Should I buy a grater plate or a grater bowl?
A flat 5 or 6 inch grater plate is compact, easy to store and ideal for a clove or two at a time. A 7 inch grater bowl has a raised rim that holds olive oil and paste, so it doubles as a dipping dish on the table. If you cook with garlic or ginger most days, the 7 inch bowl is the one most customers choose.
Does a ceramic grater plate work for ginger?
Yes. Peel the ginger and rub it in small circles over the teeth. The stringy fibres stay on top while the pulp and juice collect around them, which is why grater plates have long been used for ginger. Scrape the paste off with a brush or a spoon.
Are the plates dishwasher safe?
Yes, they can go in the dishwasher. Hand washing under running water right after use keeps the colours at their best. They are not suitable for the microwave.
Is each piece really handmade?
Yes. Every piece is shaped, glazed and finished by hand in our studio in Kütahya, Türkiye, so colours and lines vary slightly from the photos and no two are exactly alike.
Can I mix different designs?
Yes. Designs do not have to match. Any 2 pieces save 10% and 3 or more save 15%, applied automatically in your cart, which makes a grater plate an easy gift for a host, a new home or a keen cook.
How long does delivery take?
Orders ship within 1 to 3 business days. Delivery to the United States takes 2 to 5 business days with FedEx, UPS or DHL, and every order has tracking.
Do I have to pay customs duties or import taxes?
No. For orders to the United States, Canada and the European Union we pay the duties and import taxes, so there is nothing extra to pay on delivery.
What if my order arrives broken?
Send us a photo of the piece and the packaging and we will send a replacement free of charge.
Can I return a piece?
Yes. You can return or exchange a piece within 14 days of delivery. Return shipping is paid by the buyer.
