How do you grate ginger on a ceramic plate?

Peel the ginger with the edge of a spoon, hold the plate steady and rub the ginger in small circles over the dry teeth. Gather the paste with a brush or a spoon and lift off the fibres left on top.

Why use a grater plate for ginger instead of a metal grater?

The ceramic teeth break the ginger into a fine paste and hold back the stringy fibres, and the plate catches all of the juice. There are no sharp blades near your fingers and nothing to rust.

Do I need to peel the ginger?

Young ginger with thin skin can be grated as it is. Older ginger with thicker skin is best peeled first.

Can I grate garlic and ginger on the same plate?

Yes. Rinse the plate between ingredients, or put it in the dishwasher at the end of the day.

Which size is best for ginger?

A 5 or 6 inch plate is plenty for a thumb of ginger. A 7 inch bowl is easier for larger amounts and for mixing sauces and dressings in the same dish.

How long does delivery take?

No. For orders to the United States, Canada and the European Union we pay the duties and import taxes, so there is nothing extra to pay when your parcel arrives.

What happens if my order arrives broken?

Send us a photo of the piece and the packaging and we will send a replacement free of charge.

Can I return a piece?

Yes. You can return or exchange a piece within 14 days of delivery. Return shipping is paid by the buyer, and custom-made pieces cannot be returned.
